How the KDF Filter Works
Water containing dissolved oxygen, minerals and organic
materials enters a bed which is made of copper and zinc. The copper becomes the
cathode and the zinc becomes anode. As the water passes through the filter,
electro-chemical reactions take place which remove the chlorine, along with
the above other hostile contaminants. Since there are no pores to plug up this
filter medium and it is not like soft carbon and it will not clog.

UCD-C - Uses a 0.4 micron (absolute) ceramic cartridge as a
pre-filter to effectively remove harmful bacteria, such as E. Coli, Fecal
choliform, Salmonella, Streptococcus, and cysts (Cryptosporidium, Giardia),
and sediment. The cartridge can be cleaned periodically, and treats about
10,000 gallons. The second cartridge is the KDF/GAC filter. Includes chlorine
test tablets to verify when it's time to replace cartridge. 12" tall, 10" wide,
5" deep. 3 year prorated warranty on cartridges, 5 year on components.

CF - Multi-media filter cartridge (KDF/GAC) for CT,
UC, UCD, and NaK-UC. Will also fit housings designed for standard 9 3/4"

prorated warranty. Includes chlorine test tablets to verify when it's time
to replace cartridge.
CERAMIC
CER - Ceramic filter cartridge for UCD-C. Can
also be used in any industry-standard housing designed for 9 3/4" cartridges.
Effectively removes greater than 99.9% of harmful bacteria, cysts
(Cryptosporidium, Giardia), and sediment down to an absolute 0.4 micron.

While in the shower, warm water opens pores and allows chlorinated water
to be absorbed through the skin and also inhaled as chlorine gas! It has
been calculated that in just 15 minutes in a hot shower we absorb, through

The Health & Science KDF copper/zinc Shower Filter is easily installed
between the shower head and the wall. It employs the use of what is called
the Kinetic Degradation Fluxion system and its lifespan is at least twenty
times that of "old technology" carbon filters.
The KDF media used in our shower filter is a powder-like
form called KDF-Fine . Its surface area is dramatically increased over the
regular granular form of KDF. As water enters the staging chamber, it is
forced down and out the hydro-swirl jets. The water exits the jets in a
clockwise direction and picks up the KDF media where it mixes and swirls it.
This action dramatically increases the contact time, increasing efficiency.
There is no channeling or compacting, and no cleaning or backwashing needed
with this unique design!
